Things to take to hospital during delivery

As you approach your due date, it is a good idea to have your bags packed. You should be packed about two weeks ahead of your due date. You need to pack things that will make your child’s birth easier. You want to feel comfortable during the experience. The following lists are items that need to be packed for mom, dad and baby.

FOR MOM:

2 pillows and favorite cases

a pair of socks

nighty or nightgown (nursing)

undergarments

robe, slippers

nursing bras

sanitary napkins (overnights)

cosmetics

toothbrush

paste, mouthwash

hair care items

hair clips (keep hair back during labor)

loose comfortable dresses to wear home

squeeze balls, lollipops

FOR DAD or for the person who stays in the hospital:

snacks (in case there is no canteen or eat outs near by)

change of clothes

toiletries

list of people and their phone numbers to notify of birth

FOR BABY:

sleeper/ dresses with mittens

clothes to wear home

receiving blanket

Don’t forget

music (cd or tape player)

camera

film

video camera

blank tapes

batteries
