Slumdog Millionaire is a movie based on the novel Q&A written by Vikas Swarup. Slumdog Millonaire was directed by Danny Boyle (I loved the way he showed his happiness by jumping up when the Oscar for best director was announced). We all have seen the program Kaun Banega Krorpathi, the Indianised version of Who wants to be a Millionaire. In this movie, Jamal Malik, a street kid, who now have the job of making and serving tea at a call center gets a chance to enter the contest. And question after question he is able to give the right answer. The entire India is struck by his answers. But the producers have their own doubts as to whether he is a fraud. He was arrested just the night before the million dollor question and was interrogated. But during the interrogation the police founds out that the answers he have given are simply based on the experience he have faced in his life. And what not he also meets his love of his life at the end.
Though some say that the director have showed the worse of Mumbai slums, it had to be for the flow of the story. Anyway this year Slumdog Millionaire have bagged all the Oscars and three Oscars have come to Indians, A.R. Rehman for original score and song and Resul Pookutty for sound editing and mixing.
