Every Day Early Morning - Karadarshanam

Every morning before steppng down from the bed after a god sleep, one should turn to the right side and get up slowly. Getting up suddenly from the bed might bring in stress and head aches the whole day.

To avoid stress due to the sudden waking up in the morning, our ancestors have given us a small suggestion.

Every morning before stepping down from bed, turn to your right, get up slowly and rub both your hands together and place them on your face. Now slowly move the hands away from your face and open your eyes to see the palms and recite the following sloka.

Karagre Vasate Lakshmi Karmadhye Saraswati
Karmoole Tu Govindaha Prabhaate Karadarshanam

Meaning:
Karagre-on the tip of your fingers; vasate- dwells; Lakshmi- the Goddess of Prosperity, Lakshmi; karamadhye- in the middle of your hands; Saraswathi- the Goddess of Knowledge Saraswathi; karamoole- in the base of your hands; Govindah-the Lord Govindah; prabhate-in the morning; karadarshanam-look at your palm.

This prayer also denotes that each and every part of our body is the dwelling place of a god and we have to keep it clean both physically and mentally.

Comments

This seems to be a variation of the original - The second line going
karamoole stithe gouri prabhaate karadarshanam

This is a hymn towards the trio of devis or consorts of the TriMurthis - Brahma Vishnu and Maheshwara

As is a common practice to see the Mother as soon as we open our eyes - this hymn is to invoke the Three Mothers.

The other part about each part of the body being a dwelling place of a god is very true.
