Yellow fever vaccination is a must for all those who wish to go to Ghana or for that case almost all the countries in Africa. This includes even infants. Those who are on a transit through Ghana also need to take Yellow Fever Vaccination. The vaccine starts working on the people after 10 days and so one can travel only after 10 days of taking that injection. It is valid for 10 years.
People with egg allery, or people who have low immune system, especially infants, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, need to consult their physician before getting themselves administered with this vaccine.
Though once reaching Ghana or the African countries or those countries for which this vaccination is needed, one can use mosquito repellent, sprays or protect the doors and windows with mesh, one cannot do it always. It is always better to prevent rather than cure.
Note: All the travellers are required to present it at the port of entry into Ghana.
