We tend to change the password of our modem a few times especially when we feel that some one else is using our band width. At those times, even if we try to do the trouble shoot it will not work.
The solution is quite simple, just hover the mouse on the wireless icon which will pop out the list of available WiFi connections. Choose your connection and right click on it to see another pop out list which will have one of the options as properties. Choose that and you will have two options, connection and security. In the security tab, check the show charecters box, you will see the old password in the network security key. Change it to new password, uncheck the box, click ok you will now be able to connect to the WiFi.
To be more sure, restart your laptop.
