Entering Tirunelveli

We started towards Tirunelveli. The route is Nagarkoil, Valliyur and then Tirunelveli. We didnot want to take a risk with the food in Nagerkoil so we proceeded towards Valliyur and had our lunch by around 2.30. Then again we started towards Tirunelveli. We crossed through wind mills and we were told by Mr. Shankar that some of the windmills in this area are owned by textile giants of Tirunelveli.

We reached Tirunelveli by around 4.30pm in the evening and we went straight away to Hotel Barani. My husband's friend had already booked rooms there and we were allotted a room in the fifth floor. The hotel Barani is near the Tirunelveli Junction bus stand. It is just 5 mins walk from the Tirunelveli Railway station. The hotel is equipped with Nellai Saravana Bava restaurant in the ground floor and Podhigai A/C restaurant in the first floor.

We got a room in the fifth floor. A compact room with all modern facilities. I was surprised to see 21" LCD TV in that room. They gave us 2 litre water bottle as complimentary and a different fruit every day. The bathroom had detractable clothes line to hang your wet clothes (but it was quite small so again we have to tie the rope to hang the wet clothes.) As we had a very exciting day we decided to take rest in the room on that evening.

We ordered for coffee and milk once we got little settled in that room. With every coffee and milk you order you get a small packet of two biscuits one Marie and a salt biscuit. was upto our expectations. In the night also we ordered food in the room service (lesson learnt, it is good to eat at room but you need to pay a little more for everything).
