Though the hair growth and length of the hair is purely genetic, one can still make the hair grow a few inches by following certain things. One such is applying oil regularly to the hair and brushing it from the root. This home made Mehandi oil helps in both growing and maintaining it.
Ingredients needed
Mehandi/ Henna Leaves - 2 cups (Fresh)
Curry Leaves - 2 cups (Fresh)
Pepper Corns - 1/2 tbsp
Pure Coconut Oil - 500 ml (unscented)
Method to prepare this oil:
Grind Henna Leaves and Curry leaves together to a fine paste (if needed very little water can be added). Flatten them into the shape of biscuits and dry them in sun. (For the quantity given, one can make about 3 to 4 pieces of biscuits the size of Marie Biscuits). Ensure they are dried completely. There should be no water content at all. Store them in air tight container.
Heat the coconut oil in a shallow pan, when it is just about to boil, add the pepper corns and when they splutter remove from flame and let them cool. When the oil is completely cool add 1 or 2 of the dried biscuits to it. Transfer the content to an air tight container, preferably a glass bottle and keep it in a cool and dry place for two days.
The oil would have turned to a green colour which means the essence of Mehandi leaves and Curry leaves have set in. Strain the oil through a muslin cloth or a thin tea filter so that just the oil remains. Store it in an air tight container and use regularly.
Note:
If the oil gets over, one can heat the same quantity of oil and add it to the biscuits. But if the colour does not change, better use new biscuits so as to get the desired effect and result.
