Blackberry server in Mumbai India

Due to the security enhancements by the Government of India, the Canada based RIM have set up a server for its Blackberry phones in Mumbai, India. This is mainly to intercept the messenger services lawfully. The security agencies team have inspected the server and test runs are going on.

The necessity arose, when the messages sent by various terrorists groups are need to be encrypted. The mails that are sent through Black Berry Messenger services is likely to be intercepted and a lawful notice is to be issued shortly.

Nokia is also asked to do the same so that push-mails can be tracked legally.
