Rajini Kanth is not just a name when it comes to South Indian movies, its an emotion. Die hard fans wait for every movie release and one such movie released on 9th of Auust is Jailer. A movie directed by Nelson and music scored by Anirudh. Both Nelson and Anirudh have proved to the core that they are definitely die hard fans and they have grown up watchin Rajini Kanth movies.
The movie is magic for his fans. Even at this era when he can act films that can enthrall the audience right from young kids to adults who are still mesmerised by his acting and shout THALAIAAAAAAA when ever he appears on screen is the magic he have woven up till date. For a die hard fan this movie is definitely a big bonus. The entire movie is about Rajini Rajini and Rajini.
The movie revolves around an ex jailor Muthuvel Pandian who is nicknamed Tiger due to his aggresiveness towards the convicts who are trying to get away from his disciplinary actions in the jail. But he is definitely a tamer rather than a trainer. Rajini;s emotions, facial reactions are still bright and beautiful when he shows all the emotions of love towards his grandson and family. His comedy when he meets Yogi babu or VTV Ganesh or the calmness when he meets the villan Varma, wow he definitely is the director's actor. He have given on screen whatever is expected by the die hard fan and as seen by the director.
Thouh actors like ShivRaj Kumar, Mohanlal, Jackie Sheroff and Tamanna Bhatia have done cameo rolls in this movie, their entry thier movie presence is well justified and none of them is wasted and they have over done their role very well. It is definitely nice to hear the audience whistle for the entry of these big actors of other languae. All the three big shots were ready to act in Rajini movie and that too as convicts who were corrected by the jailor is something to be appreciated and appalauded too.
One of the things that I personally felt impressed is the snipers and how they are cleverly used is something different and is new to Tamil cinema. Till the end they have proven trust worthy and helpful to the story line.
A special mention about the villan Vinayakam is to be done here. He have literally nailed it. THE VILLAN in the recent times. If I have to say it in Tamil - Meratti Irukkaru. From being the assistance to Shreya Reddy in Thimiru movie to bein a single handed big villan in a Rajini starrer he have come a long way. Heard that he is a big name ofcourse villan in Malayalam movies.
The main story line of the movie is about the stealing of statues from the temples of Tamil nadu, more could be shown about it and how those thieves were captured in real can also be emphasised a bit more. But anyways.....
Anirudh have done a reat job in BGM proved that he is one die hard fan and have taken cues and clues from his hit films. Thouh at places we are reminded of Pettai BGM still it is definitely good and apt. Songs though were popularised before the movie did not get much attention while watching the movie my personal view ofcourse.
Overall its a mass Rajini movie and a great entertainer for all the Rajini fans.
